Private 8 days in Morocco from Marrakech

Introduction

Leave Marrakech behind on a Toyota Landcruiser or luxury minibus and head to Casablanca, the economic and business center of Morocco. 

Upon arrival, you will visit the stunning Hassan II Mosque, the country’s largest sanctuary. Continue the excursion to Rabat, capital of Morocco. Here, discover Méchouar, the walls that surround the Royal Palace, followed by the Kasbah of the Udayas and the magnificent Mausoleum of Mohammed V. You will then be driven to your hotel in Rabat.

Day 1: Marrakech - Casablanca - Rabat

Leave Marrakech by Toyota Landcruiser or luxury minibus and travel to Casablanca, the economic and commercial center of Morocco. Upon arrival, you will visit the impressive Hassan II Mosque, the largest shrine in the country.

Continue the trip to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Here, discover the walk, the walls surrounding the royal palace, then the Kasbah of the Oudaias and the magnificent Mausoleum of Mohammed V, after which you will be transferred to your hotel in Rabat.

Day 2: Rabat - Meknes - Fez

After breakfast, get back in the car and relax as you drive to Meknes, one of the most important imperial cities in Morocco. This city is home to lavish palaces and beautiful mosques, as well as one of the most famous souks. 

After that you will proceed to the Roman ruins in Volubilis. Founded in the 3rd century BC, Volubilis was an important colony of the Roman Empire. In the evening, you will drive to Fez, where you will spend the night.

Day 3: Full day in Fez

On the third day, you will spend an entire day exploring the wonderful city of Fez accompanied by a professional English-speaking guide. It is the oldest imperial city in Morocco. It was founded by Idris II, King of Morocco in the eighth century. 

You will also have the opportunity to discover the city at night by spending your third night there.

Day 4: Fez - Azrou - Midelt - Erfoud - Merzouga

Take the road early and head south. The first stop of the day will be Ifrane, Morocco’s “Little Switzerland”. Then, while driving through the cedar forests of Azrou, be sure to keep an eye out for the barbarian monkeys that live in these trees. 

Drive through the Ziz Valley and its gorgeous valleys, and visit the villages of Midelt and Erfoud. From Erfoud, take a dirt road in the desert to the small town of Merzouga in southeast Morocco. You will spend the night in a hotel on the edge of the dunes.

Day 5: Merzouga - Erg Chebbi

Explore the desert for a full day. Cross endless dune fields in your 4×4 vehicle, visit Bedouin settlements, admire various oases, and admire the Erg Chebbi sand dunes, which extend for 50 kilometers from north to south. Nestled in the dunes, the charming village of Khamlia is famous for its Gnawa band which you’ll also visit. 

When the sun goes down, ride a camel and enjoy a bumpy ride to the Berber desert camp, where you’ll have a traditional meal and stay overnight.

Day 6: Merzouga - Todgha and Dades Gorges

After waking up early to witness the unforgettable sunrise, the camel will take you to your hotel, where you will have breakfast and a refreshing shower (depending on the type of campground, it may be breakfast and bathing before a camel ride). 

On the sixth day, you will visit Todgha Gorge, one of the most amazing canyons in the world. The day trip ends in Dades Valley.

Day 7: Dades Gorge - Skoura - Ouarzazate

After breakfast, we will head to the Dades Gorges before taking the Thousand Kasbahs through the Valley of the Roses, as you will have time to explore the region at your own pace. The next stop will be at the Skoura palm grove, which houses the Kasbah of Amridil. 

Then you will head to Ouarzazate, where you will visit the Kasbah of Taourirt and spend the night there.

Day 8: Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech

On the last day, you will marvel at the Ait Ben Haddou Palace, a magnificent example of earthen buildings surrounded by a defensive wall, typical of southern Morocco. 

Get in your car for the last part of the trip. Crossing the Atlas Mountains through the Tizi Nietzka Pass, 2,260 meters above sea level. 

Your 8-day trip will end in Marrakech.
