Private Day Trip from Casablanca to Volubilis

Many of our clients have requested the Volubilis Day Trip. It is a cultural experience in Morocco. Our driver will pick up our clients around 8 am in their hotels or riads.

We will go directly to the Ruins of Volubilis. We take the toll road which lasts about 3 hours. Our guests will spend the day in Volubilis and see the traces of the Roman Empire in Africa.

Volubilis is a North African Roman ruin located in Morocco, a short distance (approximately 36 miles) from the historic city of Fez, not far from the city of Meknes and only a few miles from Moulay Idriss Zerhoun, a large Islamic center. site in Morocco. 

The day trip to Volubilis will give you the perfect introduction to the history of the Roman Empire in the North African region. The city of Volubilis continued to be inhabited for centuries after Roman control ended.

In 708, its name was changed to Walīlī. Much of the city center had been abandoned and turned into a cemetery, while the residential center had moved to the southwest of the city. A new wall was built to contain the abbreviated Roman city. 

Volubilis remained the capital of the region well into the Islamic period. Islamic coins dating from the 8th century have been found at the site, attesting to the arrival of Islam in this part of Morocco.
