10 days desert trip from Agadir to Merzouga via Marrakech Chefchaouen and Fez
Day 1: Transfer from the airport to your accommodation
Our experienced driver will meet you at Agadir airport and take you to the place of his choice; your accommodation or any other place you want to visit depends on your arrival time.
Day 2: Travel from Agadir to visit the imperial city of Marrakech
After your breakfast, we will start your 10 days big private trip to Agadir Merzouga desert via Marrakech, Chefchaouen and Fez, leaving Agadir city and we will travel to the imperial city of Marrakech. After a total of 3 hours on the road with some stops along the way crossing the High Atlas Mountains and the Berber villages of Soss. Once you arrive in the Imperial City of Marrakech, you will meet our local city guide to start a walking tour of the Medina (old red city of Marrakech). You will start by visiting the historical monuments of Marrakech, including the famous Bahia Palace, a walk through the gardens of the Koutoubia Mosque, and finally the famous Jamaa El Fana square at night.
Day 3: Travel from Marrakech to Rabat via Casablanca
Today we will travel from Marrakech to Rabat. Rabat is the official administrative capital of the Moroccan kingdom; overlooks the ocean. We will start our trip with a visit to the famous Hassan 2 Mosque in Casablanca; It is the largest mosque in Africa and the fifth largest in the world. Its minaret is the highest in the world. After that, we will go out to explore Rabat; where you will visit the mausoleum of the previous kings Mohammed V and Hassan II. Stroll through Kasbah Oudaya and admire the Hassan Tower, which dates back to the 12th century; as well as the Chellah necropolis site dating back to British Columbia’s time with the Phoenicians; then with Merinid in the 13th century, he spends some free time in Cornwall.
Day 4: drive from Rabat to Chefchaouen, blue city of Morocco
After breakfast, we will depart from Rabat to Chefchaouen via Rif mountain, crossing Wazzan and other Rif villages. Chaouen is a Moroccan blue pearl. She became known for the distinctive blue color that all the locals use to paint their houses. This tradition goes back to Jewish traditions and beliefs that the color blue represents the sky; whose tower reminds people of heaven and God. This color that covers the city gives it an amazing charm; as well as a feeling and atmosphere of relaxation, comfort and peace. It can be a nice change from the hustle and bustle of the cities of Marrakech, Rabat and Fez. Night in a Riad in the Medina of Chefchaouen.
Day 5: travel from Chefchaouen to Fez via Meknes
After your breakfast at the riad, our journey will start towards Volubilis through the Riff Mountains and other Rif villages. Volubilis embodies the Roman ruins and presents a unique archaeological site in the history of Morocco, after visiting the ruins we will go to Zerhoun and the city of Meknes; a 17th century imperial city, where we will cling to the immense historical walls of the medina, Bab el Mansour. Then we continue to the imperial city of Fez through Ifrane, the Switzerland of Morocco.
Day 6: day trip to explore the imperial city of Fez
Our Fez will meet you in the morning to discover the sightseeing tour of the imperial city of Fez, the oldest and most sacred of the imperial cities of Morocco. Your cultural and historical tour of the Moroccan Empire will take you through the living 2000-year-old medina; a labyrinth of alleys full of markets and souks, craftsmen, donkeys, and mules carrying their loads. Visit the Attarine and Bou Anania madrasas (Islamic universities), the Nejjarine fountain, and the Karaouine mosque. End your tour with a spectacular panoramic view of the city of Fez.
Day 7: excursion from Fez to Merzouga desert, camel trek
After your breakfast, we will leave the city of Fez towards Ifrane, which is a beautiful mountain village, often referred to as the Swiss city of Morocco. We will stop near the cedar forest in the Middle Atlas Mountains, where you can see the monkeys enjoying their freedom. We continue our journey to Azrou – Berber village in the largest cedar forest in Morocco. Then we visit the town of Midelt famous for its minerals and apple. We will travel along the Ziz valley enjoying the panoramic view of the palm trees along the river, then we will continue our journey to visit Erfoud and its fossil products. Later we will arrive at the Sahara Desert of Merzouga, where we will go on a camel trek across the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi to spend the night in a desert camp.
Day 8: From Merzouga to Ouarzazate via the Todra and Dades gorges
After an early debuff to watch the sunrise over the high sand dunes and have breakfast at the desert camp. You will return by camel back to your accommodation in the town of Merzouga. Our journey begins towards the huge palm grove of Tafilalet via Rissani. Visit Rissani’s ancient public souk to see animals and shop like the locals. Then we will take the road to the Todra Gorge where you will have time to have lunch, take photos and walk through the canyons. Then we continue our road to the Dades Valley passing through many gorges and kasbahs along the Dades River. After that, we will continue to Ouarzazate through the palm groves of Skoura. We will spend the night at your accommodation in Ouarzazate.
Day 9: road from Ouarzazate to Agadir via the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou
Departure from Ouarzazate dit Hollywood in Morocco to visit the film studio. Then we continue to visit the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And after that, head to Taroudant, descending to Tazenakt, a major center for carpet weaving. We will now be in the land of saffron! Stop at Taliouine and visit the Saffron Museum, known for its saffron harvest festival in October. Continuation to Taroudant and Agadir. Overnight in Agadir.
Day 10: Explore and visit Agadir Things to do and see
Today we will have time to visit some of the best things Agadir has to offer, like the Kasbah at the top of the hill. Learn about how this ruined walled city was one of the few buildings in Agadir to survive a massive earthquake in 1960, and visit the Amazigh Heritage Museum, a showcase for regional Berber culture and history. Admire interesting exhibits of Berber architecture and artifacts, including rugs, jewelry, and pottery, then relax on the 9-9 km sandy beach, shop for souvenirs, or try your luck in one. of the three casinos of Agadir. Then end your great 10-day adventure in the desert of Agadir Merzouga via the services of Marrakech Chefchaouen and Fez with a transfer to your accommodation or to the airport depending on the time of your flight.
