8 days from Tangier to Marrakech via the Sahara Desert

Day 1: Tangier - Chefchaouen

We will meet you at the port or airport and drive through the Rif mountains passing through the town of Tetoun to enjoy the view of the beautiful mountains until we reach Chefchaouan.

In fact, it is one of the beautiful villages at the foot of the Rif Mountains.

Chefchaouen’s medina had a Spanish-style plaza surrounded by many trendy arts and crafts shops, rooftop restaurants, and cafes where you will have lunch before continuing our journey to Fez, where we will spend the night in a traditional Moroccan riad.

Day 2: Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Meknes - Fes

Today after your breakfast at the riad, our authentic Tangier Maroc Tours trip will start towards Volubilis. Crossing through Wazan and other Rif villages. 

Thus, in Volubilis, we will discover the Roman ruins and we will discover the archaeological site of Moroccan history. Then after visiting the ruins, we will head to the city of Meknes with its 17th century heritage. 

There we stop for lunch and hang out around the huge historical walls of the medina, Bab El Mansour, and enjoy a visit to the Moulay Ismail sanctuary. 

Finally, after the visit of Meknes, we will go directly to the city of Fez, where you will spend the night in a riad.

Day 3: Visit of Fes

After breakfast at your riad, you will start exploring the oldest city in Morocco. First, take a walk through its alleys and alleys.

Therefore, our visit begins with a visit to the door of the Royal Palace, the Jewish headquarters, the first Mellah built in Morocco, built in the 16th century. Therefore, we will make sure that you visit all the sites of cultural and historical interest, including the famous Al Qaraouine University, the oldest in the region, the Tanneries, the Attarine Museum and the Mulay Idriss Mausoleum. 

Then after lunch you will visit the tile cooperative. Then discover a magnificent panoramic view of the entire medina of Fez.

Day 4: Fes - Ifrane - Midelt - Merzouga - Camel ride ans night in tent

On this day, we will begin our journey to the southeast through the Middle Atlas through Ifrane « Moroccan Switzerland » then Azrou where we will make a stop in the famous cedar forest, the largest in Morocco to see and play with Barbary monkeys.

From there we head further south passing through several cities and you will have the chance to see nomads living in tents along the way. then we will make a stop in Midelt where you will enjoy your lunch.

Later, we continue our way to Merzouga through the Tizi N’Talghomt pass (1907 m) while enjoying the panoramic view. You will also stop for a panoramic view of the Aoufous palm grove along the Ziz River.

At the end of the day, we will continue to the captivating dunes of Erg Chebbi, where you will ride a camel and spend the night in nomad tents.

Day 5: Merzouga - Rissani - Todra gorges - Dades Valley

The next morning. You will depart for Rissani, we will visit the Markt in Rissani, a traditional city that was the origin of the reigning family in Morocco and the meeting place of the merchant caravans to Timbuktu in Mali. Here you will see many hooded men and veiled women, continuing to the Todra Gorge, the highest and narrowest gorge in Morocco.

After lunch in the heart of the gorge, we will cross the Dades Valley, where you will see the majestic sand castles and the incredible rock formations called « monkey fingers ».

Overnight accommodation will be in a luxury hotel overlooking the Dades Valley.

Day 6: Dades Valley - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech

After breakfast, we will start our journey through the Dades Valley towards Kalaa M’gouna and Ouarzazate. Since the route through the Dades Valley is the Route of a Thousand Kasbahs, it offers plenty of opportunities to take some of the best photos of the trip. 

Then we will stop at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou for lunch. First of all, it is the largest kasbah in Morocco. Built by T-hami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chiefs from the beginning of the 20th century. It was one of his stopovers during his long journey from the Sahara to Marrakech. In fact, now the kasbah is one of the UNESCO heritage sites.

Then we will change our route to cross the High Atlas Mountains full of panoramic views and pretty Berber villages on the way to Marrakech.

Finally, night in a luxury riad in the medina.

Day 7: Full day in Marrakech

After breakfast at the riad, you can start exploring Marrakech « the red city of Morocco ». So, on this Tangier Morocco tour, we will make sure you see the most important sites of historical and cultural interest. Including the Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Tower, the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace.

Then, after lunch at a restaurant near the square, you will walk through the souks and see hundreds of handicrafts.

Finally, in the afternoon, you will have free time to explore other parts of the city on your own.

Day 8: Marrakech - Airport

Transfer to the airport, finally end of our services.
