3 days desert Tour from Fes to Marrakech
Introduction
The travelers arriving in Fez and looking for a 3 days adventure to explore the Sahara dunes of Merzouga and experience nomadic life.
This tour is ideal for this experience including a night in the Sahara camp and the camel trekking before to explore the road of 1000 kasbahs to finally arrive in Marrakech.
Day 1: Fes - Ifran - Midelt - Ziz Valley -Erfoud - Merzouga
After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad, your private driver/guide will take you for a journey of a lifetime experience. This private 3 days desert trip from Fes to Marrakech will allow you to explore different landscapes beginning with a drive through the UNESCO preserved Cedar Forest of the Middle Atlas. The forest hosts a colony of endangered Barbary Apes that you might see and feed.
You’ll continue on the track further south through Midelt, snaky road of the High Atlas Mountains, Ziz Gorge, and the lush Ziz Valley with its palm trees. You’ll then cross Erfoud to the Sahara Desert of Erg Chebbi where an ocean of golden sand dunes can be seen from afar. You’ll have a journey on a camel for the sunset view, then get back to the desert camp for a nice dinner. The meal is followed by a time of entertainment before culminating the long day with a relaxing sleep in the tent or under the stars.
Overnight accommodation in a luxury en suite tent desert camp – Dinner, and breakfast are included.
Day 2: Merzouga - Rissani - Todgha gorges - Dades valley
Wake up for sunrise pictures. Breakfast and take a camel trek into the town from where we depart with our jeep to the gorges of Todgha. Along the way, we stop to visit the Souk in Rissani if we coincide with the day day market.
Time will be spent to enjoy the spectacular Todgha gorges where water flows and the beautiful gardens before the canyons. After lunch, you will transfer to Dades valley with stops to enjoy the scenic road in between. We reach the place in the evening, and check into the hotel.
Day 3: Dades Valley - Skoura - Ait Benhaddou - Marrakech
After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad, you’ll head further west through Skoura, Ouarzazate with a possibility to visit the local Atlas Film Studios that brought fame to the city. You’ll include a guided walking tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou.
This village consists of a number of Kasbahs (fortresses) & has been used as a backdrop for shooting numerous Hollywood Movies including Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, Prince of Persia, Kingdom of Heaven and many others.
You’ll then drive through the High Atlas Mountains crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2267 m), we”ll include many short breaks for bathrooms and for taking pictures before getting to Marrakech in the late afternoon.
As always, we’ll make sure to get to your place safely and in-style. We’ll drop you off in your hotel but if it’s inaccessible for the car, then we’ll arrange with the staff members of the Riad you are staying in to come escort you.
